August 15th is the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Mary’s Assumption is the Roman Catholic doctrine that Mary the mother of Jesus, “having completed the course of her earthly life, was assumed body and soul into heavenly glory” by God. It is a celebration of the triumph of God’s justice over human injustice, the victory of grace over sin.
